Graduated by Higher School of Fine Arts of Lisbon in 1977 and since then, he manages his own atelier.
Professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Technical University of Lisbon, Autonomous University of Lisbon, University of Évora and at the School of Architecture at the University of Navarra.

Awards
1992 – International Association of Art Critics Award.
1994 – SECIL Award –Building of Higher School of Social Communication in Lisbon.
1998 – Valmor Award.
1999 - Grand Award by the FAD Jury –Knowledge of the Seas Pavilion in Lisbon Grand.
2004 – Luzboa Award.
2008 – Pessoa Award.
2010 – Piranesi Award of Rome.
