David Adjaye
Architect · Tanzania, 1966
Born in Tanzania and graduated in Architecture by London South Bank University and Master Degree by the Royall College of Art since 1993.
In 2000 founded the company Adjaye Associates, based in London.
Some of his works include the Contemporary Art Museum in Denver, Peace Nobel Center in Oslo and Skolkovo Business School in Moscow.
In 2009 was selected to draw the Afro-Americans National Museum of History and Culture in Washington.
Awards
1993 – RIBA, Bronze Medal for part 1 students.
2006 – Nominated for Stirling Award by Idea Store Whitechapel, in London.
2008 - Design Futures Council Senior Fellow.
2011 - Design Miami/ Designer of the Year Award.
2016 - Massachusetts Institute of Technology's McDermott Award, prize for excellence in the arts.
