Founded in 1989, ESAD - Escola Superior de Artes e Design de Matosinhos is a private higher education institution that has gradually established itself as a benchmark for quality in teaching, research and outreach in the field of design and the arts.
ESAD has always been committed to quality teaching and has always reflected the conviction that schools, beyond being institutions that award academic degrees, should act as educational institutions in the fullest sense of the term, as platforms connecting civil society, industry and the market.
ESAD has been delivering a broad programme of events, from seminars and conferences to workshops and exhibitions, in a critical and reflective environment around relevant themes in the field of design, both nationally and internationally.
