Community libraries to bring books into public space

"Leave a book and take another." That is the motto behind street libraries: small public bookcases installed in gardens, squares and community spaces, where anyone can leave a book they have already read and take another they would like to read.

The model rests on sharing and trust: there is no control system, no library card, no opening hours.

The structures are made in steel, acrylic and marine plywood, materials that withstand outdoor exposure and keep the inside of the bookcase visible.

They are available in different sizes, adaptable to the scale of the space and to the volume of books to be accommodated.

Installation is straightforward and the equipment integrates easily with the rest of the street furniture in the space.

We work with local authorities, parish councils, associations and cultural promoters on the specification and installation of street libraries, which can be customised in finish and configuration.
